Zeni 'Mr. Lake' Bardolino (Italy)

This is a gorgeous, medium-bodied Bardolino from the Veneto side of Lake Garda. If you love Appassimento wine, but need something slightly lighter for mid-week dinners, this is absolutely for you. This tastes of fresh cherry, wild strawberry and redcurrant with a touch of spice.

The blend is 60% Corvina and 40% Rondinella. This wine is unoaked, allowing the red fruit flavours of these grapes to shine and also making it very easy drinking.

The Zeni family have been making wine for 5 generations around Lake Garda and Verona. Their production style is characterised by the 'Zeni 1870 Method', classified in 2020 when the company celebrated its 150th anniversary. This method is based on five pillars: biodiversity in the vineyard, quality in the cellar, value of the crus, the spread of wine culture and the active role of the family.

Pair this with midweek pastas, BBQ food, charcuterie or grilled vegetables. Bellissimo!
