Zagare Vermentino (Italy)

This vibrant and expressive Vermentino certainly lives up in taste to its lemon-adorned bottle! Expect bags of zesty lemon and white flower flavours and great freshness. The palate has bright citrus peel and grapefruit, an appealing texture, fresh acidity and a gently savoury finish.

Vermentino thrives near the sea, such as on Sicily's west coast where many of the vineyards face the sea to benefit from light reflected from the waves. These grapes are cultivated here - also the source of some of the island's best Grillo.  It's named after the delicate white flower of the lemon tree - "Zagare". 

A simple wine that will settle into place free-flowing at any table. Delicious with fish and seafood, and simple pasta dishes.
