Cork of the North loyalists know how much we love Georgian wine, especially Saperavi... and this is our new firm favourite. This is a proper chunky monkey with dark berry flavours, hints of cocoa, silky smooth tannins and a long finish. For something balanced, deep and delicious, give this a try.
These Saperavi vines are 35 years old, growing in the Kakheti region of southeast Georgia. The wine is fermented on its skins for 2 to 3 weeks in Qvevri - clay pots that have been a staple of Georgian winemaking for thousands of years! The wine is named 'Rustaveli' after Georgia’s famed Renaissance era poet, author of 'The Knight in the Panther's Skin'.
Pair this with steak frites, barbecue or mushroom dishes.
Vintages may vary. Please contact us if you are looking for a specific vintage.
