Rolly Gassmann 'Brandhurst de Bergheim' Pinot Gris (France)

Rounded, honeyed, and deliciously heady, this top quality Alsatian Pinot Gris is complex, rich, and totally decadent. The wine is a deep straw yellow colour. The nose is complex and hints at the richness of this wine. Aromas of honeysuckle, ripe pear, ginger and vanilla. The aromas are not let down by the exotically textured palate that delivers richness and complexity while maintaining balance.

Rolly Gassmann is one of the most exclusive and well respected wineries in Alsace, famous for their top quality wines dating back centuries; the Rolly family since 1676 and the Gassmann family since 1611. With the marriage of Marie-Thérèse Rolly and Louis Gassmann in 1967 the two estates were united and today the 45ha are run by their second son, Pierre. 

The Gassmanns are a family of epicureans. It is hardly surprising then that 10% of their wines are sold annually to some of the greatest Michelin-starred restaurants of France. The Gassmanns make food-friendly wines, and this textural Pinot Gris is perfect with richer classic French dishes or spicy Asian food.
