This month’s Reds case - selected with Christmas in mind - is jam-packed with lip-smacking delicious bottles, and they offer INSANE value for the quality of the wine. We’ve included some real customer favourites in this month’s selection, and they are perfect for your festive frivolities.

Case contents are as follows:

URBAN PARK APPASSIMENTO (Veneto, Italy)

This is one of our all-time best-selling reds - and it’s not hard to see why. Produced from the classic Valpolicella and Amarone grapes Corvina and Rondinella, which are dried for 30 days before vinification. Full-bodied and juicy, with hints of black cherry and ripe bramble fruits.

JUAN GIL COMOLOCO’ MONASTRELL (Jumilla, Spain)

A wonderful winter warmer with rich, dark fruit flavours and a nice savoury edge. Cherry and floral aromas lead to a palate of ripe bramble and blueberry fruit. this is delicious!

LA PAUSA MALBEC (Famatina, Argentina)

This organic Malbec offers a deliciously ripe, fruit-driven nose with violet aromatics, and a freshness on the palate complements the full, smooth, and rich fruit character of the wine, and a note of spice adding complexity to the long finish. Sensationally smooth, with ripe red fruits on the palate, and a luxurious chocolate character which really makes this wine special. An Argentinian Malbec that puts sustainability and fairtrade conditions at the forefront. ‘La Pausa’ which means ‘The Pause’ is a wine designed to allow the drinker to take stock and reflect on the things that are truly important in the world. Not only is this wine certified organic and vegan, it is also certified fairtrade and uses sustainable glass production. This wine is ideal with a juicy rump steak as well as other types of grilled red meats and tomato-based -pasta dishes.

RIPPA DORII ROBLE (Ribera del Duero, Spain)

Fancy an alternative to Rioja? Try Ribera del Duero! Where Rioja tends to be red-fruit driven, oaky and smooth, Ribera emerges as the more intense, concentrated black-fruit driven older sibling. Aromatically, this has a really inviting and vibrant fresh fruit expression of dark cherries, red plums, baking spices, with gently floral notes. The palate focuses on fruit, but with enough tannin to give structure, a good length finish, and gentle oaky notes. Pair this with richly-flavoured pasta dishes.

PASSO DEL CARDINALE PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA (Puglia, Italy)

Big, beefy and as full-bodied as Jay Rayner after a long lunch, this is an exceptional red. It has huge, persistent, chewy blackcurrant and blackberry flavours, all nicely balanced with a decent acidity.

BOUTINOT LES COTEAUX’ COTES DU RHONE VILLAGES (Rhone, France)

A consistently good red from our favourite Rhone producer. This is a smooth and velvety blend of Grenache and Syrah, with brambly fruit flavours underpinned by a hint of cinnamon and deft touch of sweet spice. Perfect with a roast dinner!
