Ontañón Rioja Crianza (Spain)

This Rioja Crianza is a classic Spanish beauty from our friends at Bodegas Ontañon! 

Ontañon Rioja Crianza pours a rich garnet red, with aromas of ripe red berries, cherries, and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied with silky tannins and a balanced acidity. You’ll taste flavours of juicy raspberries, blackberries, and a subtle touch of spice.

The wine is produced from 40 year old vines grown just south of the River Ebro in Rioja Baja. Here, Tempranillo grapes are interestingly blended with some Garnacha, and following a long maceration period, the wine spends 12 months in 60% American and 40% French oak barrels, used and new. This is followed by a further 12 months in bottle prior to release.

Ontañon Rioja Crianza is a brilliant example of a rich, flavourful, balanced Rioja - perfect for any occasion.
