Ontañón Clarete (Spain)

This is a quality rosé from Rioja made from a blend of Viura and Tempranillo. 

The wine has a delicate coral hue, with lifted red berry aromas. There is a hint of florality on the palate, with a refreshing hint of citrus on the finish. 

Clarete is an officially classified style of rosado, well-known in Rioja but almost never found outside the region. Clarete is vinified like a red, with short skin contact during fermentation. It is traditionally a blend of Viura, a white grape, and one of two red grapes, Tempranillo or Garnacha. Clarete has a lifted floral component on the nose and is typically clean and bright on the palate. 

This wine can be enjoyed on its own, but also pairs perfectly with assorted tapas and summer fare.
