Monopolio Gambellara Classico (Italy)

Only a few miles east of Soave is the much smaller district of Gambellara, where great hillside parcels of garganega are used to make this charming white wine. This is wonderfully fresh with lovely peach flavours and a touch of spice. Made from 100% Garganega grapes (same as Soave), it is dry but fantastically aromatic with a crisp refreshing finish and nice body. Definitely one for impressing your friends.

The Garganega grapes are grown on selected vineyards on the hills of the commune of Gambellara, a region known for winemaking since the Roman times. All vineyards are at least 20 years old and their volcanic soils are derived from basalts, providing an abundance of minerals that allow grapes to ripen fully and develop aromatic richness.
