Marqués de Burgos Ribera del Duero Roble (Spain)

Rioja lover looking to branch out? Get a load of this punchy, modern Ribera made from 100% Tempranillo, just a 2 hour drive south of Rioja. This has plenty of power and a deep, oaky flavour, lifted by bright ripe fruit and balancing acidity.

Roble is the second youngest oak-ageing category for Spanish red wine (after 'Joven', which means unoaked). This means that this wine has been aged for 6 months in oak, imparting a distinct smoky finish without overpowering the fruit flavours.

The winemaker chose the site for this wine on a hot-air balloon flight! He was struck by the beauty of the vineyards along the Duero River, which provide stunning growing conditions.

Serve this at your next barbecue with burgers and lamb skewers, or pair with a vegetable chilli.
