This is a gorgeous drop that serves as a great introduction to orange wine. Accessible and drinkable with notes of mandarin, honey, herbs and hay. The palate is rich with a pithy fruit character, a satisfying hit of ginger and excellent acidity.
This wine hails from Alcamo, in the Northwest of Sicily, Southwest of Palermo. The plot has been used for wine production since 1860, when Marsala wine was originally being produced. When the Vesco family took over in the late 1990s, they modernised and introduced cutting-edge technology. They now try to balance innovation with tradition and heritage.
Only 30% of these Cataratto grapes macerate on the skins, and for just 3 days, which is why this wine is such a great place to start if you’re new to orange wine.
Pair this with white meat, meaty seafood, or grilled Mediterranean veg.
Vintages may vary. Please contact us if you are looking for a specific vintage.
