Cabernet Sauvignon really shines as a single varietal here. Notes of rich cassis greet you on the nose and set the tone for the boldness of the wine, followed by fresh, ripe cherries and plums. The palate balances blackcurrant fruit with cedar, ripe spice, and a long finish. Big, bold, full-bodied and delicious!
The grapes are grown on cool slopes facing False Bay in Stellenbosch, in rich granite soil, with maritime air influence together aiding the complexity and adding freshness to this wine.
The malolactic fermentation was carried out in lined concrete tanks after which the wine was transferred to 225l French oak barrels (25% new oak), then aged here for 20 months.
Pair this wine with slow cooked, minted lamb shank, or any slow cooked stew.
