This Pinot Noir acts as the 'Interlude' in De Bortoli's La Bohème series. These wines possess flavour and quality that matches their sense of romance.

This Pinot Noir is medium ruby in colour with a lovely brightness. Aromas of scented red and dark fruits. The palate is gentle and supple flavours with wild crunchy redcurrants and fresh raspberries, violets, spice and texture. In the winemaker's own words, this is 'serious but smashable'!

The Pinot Noir grapes picked for this wine consist of a combination of whole berry and whole bunch, put in open fermenters and traditional stainless vats. 10-15 days of maceration and fermentation. Pressed, settled overnight and then filled to barrel and allowed to mature for 8 months at 16°C in 225L and 500L French oak casks.

De Bortoli Wines established the Yarra Valley Estate in 1987, acquiring some of the oldest plantings in the region and a brilliant piece of land to grow vines and make premium cool climate wine. Their award-winning range of premium, often single vineyard wines are crafted to reflect their philosophy that good wine starts in the vineyard and captures a true sense of place.

Pair this wine with fresh, roasted tomatoes and garlic cloves, served with crusty bread and fresh basil. Also great with mushroom dishes or roasted duck.
