KWV The Mentors Chenin Blanc (S.A)

This is a Chenin with huge personality and one to impress the in-laws!

The KWV Mentors Chenin Blanc is bursting with aromas of ripe mango, apricot and sweet peaches. The creamy and textured palate shows hints of zesty lime, with good length and minerality. Some floral notes add complexity to the balanced rich yet fresh character of the wine.  Although approachable now, this will continue to develop and improve for a good few years from the vintage. 

The Mentors range of wines represents the premium end of the range for one of South Africa’s most historic winers, KWV.  This 100% Chenin Blanc is barrel fermented with a mixture of wild and cultured yeast and then lees aged for 9 months in a mixture of one, two and three year old 500 litre oak barrels. 

 "80% oak and 20% stainless steel tank fermented Chenin has produced a tightly wound wine with a wood and beeswax nose, followed by baked apple and lime backed up by a lovely cleansing acidity. The finish develops honey and stone fruit flavours." 91 Points, Decanter Magazine
