This Puglian red is as rich and full-bodied as Elton John after a hearty roast dinner! It’s big, yet smooth - with a ripe and intense blackcurrant flavour. Ideal with a pizza or to enjoy just on its own, this is the perfect fireside red to savour over the winter months. On top of that, it is a firm  Cork of the North customer go-to. 

The winemaker, Filippo Baccalaro, is from Piemonte, and moved to Puglia to produce wines with minimal technology. 80% of the Primitivo grapes come from old bush vines and the rest from trained vines that are at least 20 years old. The wine is aged in stainless steel.

Pair this wine with pizza, roasted lamb, aubergine parmigiana, or a hearty lentil stew.
