Hople Bora 18 Cuvée Rouge (Poland)

This unique and classy Polish red is absolutely brimful with flavour. It is juicy, charming and complex. It has a lot of ripe, dark forest fruits with sweet cooking spices like nutmeg, clove, vanilla, cinnamon. Having been aged 4 years in oak, also expect toast and smoke characteristics. On the palate very smooth with long, long finish.

This reminds us of the Amarone style with concentrated flavours of black fruit, but with a much more savoury overall effect, with complex notes of green chilli and cocoa. It is a blend of 80% Regent, a local and historic grape, and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Pair this with grilled sausages topped with punchy salsa or Welsh lamb in a herby sauce. Bosh!
