Here and There Malbec (South Africa)
Here and There Malbec (South Africa)
This South African Malbec is remarkably fresh, great value for money, and super juicy!
'Here and There' is wonderfully warm and open on the nose, with invitingly ripe redcurrant, raspberry fruit, and a touch of spice. Juicy and approachable on the palate with a core of gentle red berry fruit nicely balanced by fresh acidity and a rounded, supple finish.
For this wine, Malbec grapes are harvested from the Swaartland’s granite-rich alluvial soils. These vineyards produce low yields, and small berries, providing concentrated, rich flavour. The grapes are hand-picked and naturally fermented in stainless steel tanks, 30% whole-bunch and 70% whole berry fermented to add to complexity and tannin structure. Pumped over once daily during fermentation. After fermentation, the wine is pressed, with 75% returned to the tank for malolactic fermentation, and 15% undergoing the fermentation in old 300 litre barrels for a subtle hint of oak.

A versatile style which goes well with a variety of food such as vegetable lasagne, or pizza.
