Granbazan Limousin Albariño (Spain)

Golden in colour, bursting with stone fruits and gentle vanilla and honey flavours. A truly iconic wine and one of our favourites. Albariño is a wonderfully versatile grape and we see it here at its absolute best. Expect aromas of stone fruit, dried figs and marzipan. The palate has bright acidity and lightly spicy notes, and a saline and refreshing finish.

Granbazán began experimenting with oak in the 1980s and have perfected this wine, which spends time in Limousin oak barrels to add layers of complexity and texture. It is widely regarded as one of the best wines in the Rias Baixas.

This wine LOVES food! Try with herb-crusted chicken with braised vegetables, sushi and sashimi – especially with Asian spices like ginger and wasabi. Or with fried foods such as fish & chips, fried chicken and pork schnitzel.
