Frangy Roussette de Savoie (France)

We just love this bright, nutty, and fresh Savoy white! This is an exceptional wine at a great price with decadent flavours of pear and gingerbread spice.  The flavours are reminiscent of spice and honey with a touch of nougat and the mouthfeel is soft, mellow and off dry.

The cake sounding ‘Frangy’ part of this name refers to the village from whence it came, one of 16 villages in the Savoie given cru status under the AOC. This is a totally naturally made, low sulfite wine. Rousette (otherwise known as Altesse) can make exceptional wine and at this great price, this glass is very enjoyable indeed. 

Delicious with river fish such as pike or perch, or veal escalope, and is particularly good with the local Beaufort cheese!
