Now, we’ve all had Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc before, but here is one that really stands out from the crowd. This has spent a short time in acacia and oak barrels. It is fresh and zesty with a lovely passionfruit flavour and a lovely texture. It's nice and zesty on the finish, and again, with a hint of tropical fruit.
Each parcel of fruit that went into this wine was vinified separately. The juices were predominately fermented in stainless-steel tanks using several different treatments, however 8% was fermented in oak and acacia puncheons. A very small component (2%) underwent fermentation on the skins. Following fermentation, all portions were aged on their fine lees for six months before being blended and bottled.
