Duffour Pere et Fils (France)

Aromatic Southern French white blend with lovely citrus notes. This is crisp and bright with lovely fresh fruit flavours and a clean finish. A real crowd pleaser!

A quality driven approach in this family run vineyard leads to a classic, great quality wine. The traditional grape varieties of Colombard, Gros Manseng and Ugni Blanc are expertly blended to give vibrant citrus and exotic fruit with an aromatic finish. It displays more body than many other wines from this area.

The 70 hectare vineyard is spread across sunny south-facing slopes, ensuring consistent ripening of the fruit as well as excellent drainage. The soils are clay and limestone and the vines are on average 30 years old. Unusually for this fertile region, lower yields are encouraged by pruning more severely, which in turn brings a greater concentration to the wine. The approach at Duffour Pere et Fils is very much based on quality, rather than quantity.
