Dolce & Gabbana, Donnafugata 'Bollicina Gold' Brut Rose

This may be the most 'bling' bottle of wine we have ever sold, but bloody hell, it's UTTERLY DELICIOUS. We are privileged to be the only wine merchant in the UK to have stocks of this limited edition fizz.

Donnafugata are the best wine producer in Sicily, and they have created this extremely limited edition sparkling wine as a one-off collaboration with their neighbours Dolce & Gabbana - with whom they have had family connections for decades.

Marc tasted this on a recent trip to Donnafugata's winery in Sicily and was blown away by this incredible fizz, made with the local grape Nerello Mascalese. Although classed as a rose, this is only gently pink-coloured, and is distinguished by a bouquet with notes of bread crust, paired with fruity hints of citrus fruits and currants. The mouth feel is enveloping, with sharp freshness and persistence.

Although not for the UK market, given its limited quantities, Marc begged Donnafugata to let him have a small quantity - and we were able to import just 12 bottles of this beautiful wine. It comes in a beautiful gold-coloured gift box with a handle, and is simply the perfect gift.
