Clos la Coutale Malbec (France)
Clos la Coutale Malbec (France)
Ever tried a Malbec from its traditional home in Cahors, France? Here's your chance!
The Clos La Coutale Cahors is a blend of the traditional local grape Malbec (80%) and Merlot (20%). This wine is matured in barrels and wooden casks for one year in order to obtain a good balance between tannins and fruit. Blackcurrants, blackberries and prune aromas are followed by a soft and elegant palate that has an enticing note of vanilla.
Founded over 100 years ago, Clos La Coutale is one of the finest producers in Cahors. Philippe Bernard is the sixth generation of his family to oversee this 50-hectare estate, situated just a few hundred yards from the Lot River. Clos La Coutale is a benchmark of the Cahors region and has a history of producing some of the finest and longest-lived wines of the region.
Pair this gorgeous Cahors Malbec with lighter cuts of beef, cassoulet, mushrooms, roast duck, roast lamb, roast pork, mild blue cheese, short ribs, couscous or turkey.
