Ciu Ciu 'Merlettaie' Pecorino (Italy)

A bit of a cult icon! This is a fresh, crisp, and layered Pecorino from the Adriatic coast. There’s creamy vanilla flavours from light oak ageing and decadent citrus, pear, and almond notes.  It has a beautifully defined palate of zippy citrus and refreshingly ripe tree fruit, interlaced with white pepper and a zesty long finish.

First established in 1970 Societa Agricola Ciù Ciù is run by brothers Massimiliano and Walter Bartolomei. The estate is situated in the heart of the Piceno hills in the Marche region of central Italy only a few kilometres from the Adriatic coast. They cultivate on an organic basis and are also keen that their wines are an authentic expression of their region.

A wine with real definition and class, it's a prime candidate to pair with seafood, risotto, or poached salmon.
