Champagne Rare Brut Millesime (France)

The clue is in the name... an extremely rare and special Champagne from the makers of Piper Heidsieck. Rare Brut Vintage 2013 Champagne is a tribute to the halcyon days of the royal court at Versailles, created by Florens-Louis Heidsieck for Marie Antoinette in 1785!

This 2013 blend is 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. It is an Intense, shiny bright lemon-green colour. On the nose, there are aromas of apricot pastries, orange zest and mango, followed by more pronounced notes of vanilla, toast and Asian spices. The complex bouquet of spices leads to a delicate, long finish. Opulent, rich and intense - just amazing.

A singular treat drank as an aperitif, or amazing with fresh fish or summer fruits. Drink from now until around 2035! Huzzah!
