This is Argentine Malbec in all its glory, with enticing notes of jammy black fruit and a brilliant savoury grunt. Olives, gravel, iron and mineral notes manifest across the nose and the palate, with exceptional focus and concentration of flavour. Delightful!

This happy little Malbec is the result of fruit grown by a group of independent growers in the Uco Valley with whom Benegas have worked for many years. It is a rarity in this sense, being the only wine made at the winery not 100% estate grown, but it’s none the worse for all that. Benegas work closely with the growers on vine health, vineyard management and, crucially, harvest times to ensure the grapes coming in to the winery are tip-top and worthy of the Benegas name.

Bodega Benegas is a wine producer in Argentina with its bloodline firmly rooted throughout its history. Founder Federico Benegas Lynch, the great-grandson of Don Tiburcio Benegas (a legend in the Argentine wine scene), raised Federico at El Trapiche - another famous wine estate in Mendoza. Federico then moved to the nation's capital of Buenos Aires to pursue a career before returning to his homeland in Mendoza with a dream to follow his vinous destiny and produce wine.

Pair this wine with puttanesca pasta to complement the savoury olive notes, or grilled meats.
