Adegas Belem Arinto (Portugal)

This is made in an urban winery in the Belém district of Lisbon, and their grapes are all sourced from the University vineyards. It’s a very limited production wine, only 880 bottles, has a complex and rich aroma, with a little grapefruit, peach and spice. There is a creaminess on the palate, and a long finish that has just the right amount of acidity to make you want to go back for more.

These winemakers previously worked as academics at the University of Lisbon! They focus on indigenous varities and a low-intervention appraoch. Aged for six months in old oak.

Pair this wine with a more flavourful seafood dish such as Jamaican ackee and saltfish, or mussels in a tomato sauce.
