The most widely used grape variety for making Rainwater in the past was Verdelho, of which they used 85% from the year 2014. They put 2.500 litres to age in a wooden vat with a capacity of 2.800 litres with the aim of inducing very slow oxidation to the wine. To this blend, they added 15% of a 2017 Sercial, aged in a 620-litrr cask that was in their warehouse E, the coolest of the several they own.
